Meet the "Real World Kids OT" Team
HI, I AM SARAH!!!

I am a Registered Occupational Therapist & Holistic Sleep Coach. Supporting children and their families is my biggest passion that I have been following since I graduated from university as an Occupational Therapist (OT) in 2007.
In 2011, I moved to Vancouver after four wonderful years in Merida (Yucatan, Mexico), where I founded the first occupational therapy clinic for children with special needs. I worked in a pediatric OT clinic for seven years and in the Early Intervention Therapy program at SHARE (Child Development Centre) for four years.
In 2018, I completed the Holistic Sleep Coaching Program at the BabyEm Academy in England to become a sleep coach and founded “Holistic Sleep Solutions“. As a sleep coach, I combine my extensive OT knowledge and expertise to provide sleep support for toddlers and school-aged children in a holistic way.
I have extensive training and experience in supporting children with Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD), anxiety, autism (ASD), feeding challenges and other developmental delays. I use an attachment-based and family-centred approach when working with families and always include the child’s environment (people, places and tasks that are relevant to the child).
In 2021, I founded “Real World Kids OT”, a mobile OT clinic with a visionary concept to bring Occupational Therapy into your “real life”. Rather than you coming into a clinic setting, I come to YOU, wherever your child needs support (at home, in the community, at daycare or school).
During my practice in Germany, Austria, USA, Mexico and Canada, I have learned the importance of taking each family’s culture, strengths and resources into account. I am fluent in English, German and Spanish. I am licensed through the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia (COTBC) to practice occupational therapy, am a member of the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapy (CAOT), the World Federation of Occupational Therapists (WFOT), and am registered with the RASP list as a service provider for children with ASD.
HI, I AM HEIDI!!!

As a dedicated occupational therapist passionate about empowering individuals to achieve their fullest potential, I am thrilled to be part of the “Real World Kids OT” team. With over 10 years of experience in pediatrics, I am committed to supporting children, youth, and young adults on their developmental journey.
I hold a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Manitoba and am a registered member of the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia (COTBC).
My expertise lies in conducting comprehensive assessments, developing customized intervention plans, and implementing evidence-based therapy strategies. Whether providing therapeutic interventions, collaborating with schools, or advocating for inclusive environments, I am dedicated to facilitating successful therapeutic outcomes.
I love exploring nature through hiking, boating, and snowshoeing in my free time. When not immersed in my occupational therapy work, I often express my creativity through art.
TESTIMONIALS
“We were hoping for the opportunity to express to you how grateful we are of all the help you’ve given us these last 2 years. Without your guidance, our daughter wouldn’t be where she is today, and we would be more lost than ever. Your expertise has been essential to her progress, and we are indebted to you for it!”(Dr. Andrew, father of 3 year old girl)
“Sarah brings passion into her work. She is supportive of the needs of neurodiverse children and their caregivers in a way that brings families closer together and results in amazing growth. She is an incredible source of knowledge and support and working with her has been one of the best experiences in my working life. She is inspiring and encouraging and brings so much of herself into everything that she does.“ (Macaela, SLP)
“I have quickly learned how fiercely Sarah cares about the children and families that she supports, and the people that she loves. We are all lucky to have experienced her compassion, and the families who will meet her in the future will be lucky.” (Courtney, SLP)
